Procedures & Diagnostics Experience

In my journey, my partner and I have been (un)lucky enough to experience a wealth of procedures. I expect to continue adding to this list as my treatment continues.

  • Genetic Carrier Screening
  • Saline Sonogram (SIS, sonohysterogram)
  • Hysterosalpingogram (HSG)
  • (2) Manual Uterine Aspiration for failed pregnancy (MUA)
  • (2) Egg Retrievals (1 with anesthesia, 1 without anesthesia
  • Preimplanation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy (PGT-A)
  • (2) Frozen Embryo Transfers (FET)
  • Endometrial Biopsy (ReceptivaDx and ERA)
  • Lupron Depot (2 months)
  • Intrauterine Insemination, Natural Cycle (IUI)
  • (4) Early Pregnancy Losses (Recurrent Pregnancy Loss)

Hi, I’m Laura Mattis.

After years of trying to conceive and enduring multiple pregnancy losses, I dove into IVF treatment—experiencing diagnostic tests, egg retrievals, embryo transfers, and genetic testing.

The further and longer it’s gone on, the more overwhelmed I felt by the physical, emotional, and social demands of each step. My life was overtaken by infertility and I could think of nothing else.

Each procedure, setback, and small victory reinforced how crucial it is to have a kind, knowledgeable guide who understands the daily realities of fertility treatment and infertility.

That’s why I built embee health: to provide the resources and understanding I wish had when I started. I’m still on this path myself, working toward a child of my own, and I know firsthand the strength and resilience it takes to keep going.

Our Principles

Human-Centered Care

There’s no single way to grow your family, and you aren’t like any other parent-to-be.

Whether you’re just beginning or have been at it for a while, our coaching and digital tools adapt to your needs at each stage—meeting you exactly where you are.

Radical Empathy

Infertility touches every aspect of your life. Your pain and joy is valid.

We believe in respectful, accepting support that addresses both the emotional and practical sides of care.

Experienced GuidancE

We know well the stress of injecting medications at home, and the post-procedure bloating. Because we lived it.

Every session and tool is designed to help you take control of the process in your own way.

  • Embee Health Coaching

  • Doris Health App

A digital assistant (in development) that helps you stay organized and emotionally supported. With personalized reminders, self-care tips, and a non-judgmental timeline, Doris Health lets you manage the complexities of treatment privately and on your own terms.

What does “Embee health” Mean?

“embee” said out loud sounds like the letters “M-B”. These letters represent the Mind-Body connection, a scientifically-validated concept that our brains and bodies can influence each other.

When under stress/anxiety, for example, we feel the effects mentally (brain fog, rushing thoughts, frenzy or depression) and physically (high blood pressure, increased heart rate, shaking). By changing our mindset or managing our mental and/or physical reactions, we can actually change our experience of that stress.

Ideally, you’ll be facing parenthood at the end of this journey— you’ll need to be your strongest self.

Are You saying Infertility is because of stress?

No, we definitely don’t think a vacation or alcohol will solve infertility (THAT’S STUPID & RIDICULOUS… THERE, I SAID IT).

What we do believe is that fertility care should include both our minds and bodies. While REs and OB/GYNs support your hormones and physical reproductive health, embee health is here to support all the other—just as important—parts of you.
