How your fertility over time affects your family

I was shocked when I first saw the data. And kind of angry.

NOTE: This post was written when I was a “normal” 39-year-old woman with unexplained fertility. If you have other diagnoses like PCOS or endometriosis, make sure to ask your provider for specific info.

For so much of my life, I hadn’t really thought about having kids. I wanted to establish my career and pay down those student loans first. I remember hearing, “you can have kids anytime” and “40 is the new 30” and “do it when you’re ready”.
